Deacons Union

What's Coming Up!

How We Began

The Northern Neck Baptist Deacons' Union was incorporated in May 2002. It had its humble beginnings in 1952 as it grew out of the Northumberland Deasons' Union. At that time, a group of dedicated deacons from Westmoreland County attended one of the sessions at the above-named Union. The decision was made sometime thereafter to rename the organization the Northern Neck Baptist Deascons' Union. The purpose for which the Corporation was formed is exclusively for religious, educational, and other similar non-profitable purposes, as contemplated by Sections 201 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, as amended {any reference herein to any provision of such Code shall be deemed to mean provisions as now or hereafter existing, amended, supplemented, or superseded}. More specifically, the purpose of the Corporation is the extent feasible to: {excerpt} mutually improve the welfare of the Baptist Churches in the Northern Neck Baptist Association and carry out the principles outlined in the Scriptures by teaching and training of the member Deacons to better instruct the meaning of the Scriptures. {this entire document is available from the current president and/or secretary of the Union}
